It's A Crazy World Out There!

I came across a how to grow website. which every Tom, Dick and Harry seems to be making these days and as I was reading their recommendation for treating spider mites I think my jaw dropped a little ...

“The first signs of them look a lot like Aphids, and Gnats. They live and breed on the underside of the plant leaves. The way you will know that there are Spider Mites present (besides the attacking of leaves), is that they will start producing a spider-like webbing on the plant areas that they are attacking. These little buggers can destroy a plant in a very short period of time.”

Spider a mites do not look like aphids or gnats, especially gnats. Gnats are much bigger, are able to fly and prefer moist soil over leaves... If you wait until webs have formed then you have not been doing your weekly pest check because they are signs to watch for way before it gets so bad you see webs formed. The first sign is tiny yellow/white dots on the upper side of the leaf and underneath you need a strong magnifying glass to see them if they're small & haven't don't a lot of damage. You can see them without a magnifier but you can surely miss them as well. You need to inspect weekly with a good scope and catch the before webs are visible.

There sure are a lot of "growers' Putting out some crappy info....

No where does it discuss what to do when your in flower and you have mites... and this quote here really made me question their knowledge. One thing I've learned is it doesn't matter how long a grower has been growing. I've witnessed first hand growers that have "forty plus" years of experience that grew cannabis I wouldn't smoke if it was the last bud on the planet...No matter what strain they're growing the buds are look the same.... leafy as hell. I pointed out to them that they had PM and urged them to dump some of the gazillion plants they had growing under insufficient light.I also had PM at the time. They didn't listen and a year later... still plagued with the AIDS OF CANNABIS while I beat mine. They were to using a product that is only a last resort and only if you're desperate to save a genetic. Its only to be used on seedlings and I hope for their health's sake and those that smoke that pot because it's obvious it's jus not for personal use.
